TC (Trace Cat) and Annie about 2016, with Mama's left McCurley Toe Note: David rescued TC out on the Natchez Trace. He was out there giving Sadie a walk, and found an abandoned kitten in the weeds, too wild to let him get near enough to catch it. With dark coming on, he took Sadie home, but Mama told me she could see he was not able to forget about that kitten. Finally he got a flashlight and a can of cat food, went back out there and caught it and brought it home; it proceeded to give him and Mama some awful skin thing like scabies. Despite her dubious start, TC ended up being a pretty nice cat, small. She liked to sleep by Mama's feet, under the covers. The tortoiseshell was Annie, who wandered up onto David's front porch in Pass Christian and gave birth in an empty carboard box he'd left on his front porch. Something killed the kittens, but Annie survived to be one crazy-assed cat, super-demanding of affection, and capable of drawing blood for no reason at all. Date added: October 2021
